ALPINE OFFICE - A TRANQUIL WORKSPACE

COPENHAGEN-BASED DESIGN STUDIO ALPINE OFFICE IS PROPELLED BY A DEEP CURIOSITY AND PASSION FOR GROWTH, EXPLORATION, AND COLLABORATION.

We met with founders Lea Kargaard, Mads-Emil Luplau, and Rozanna Fritz to discuss our recent collaboration and gain insights into their approach to workspace design. They’ve crafted an inspiring and tranquil environment that beautifully balances homeliness with professionalism—a space created to foster focus, creativity, and meaningful work.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT ALPINE OFFICE AND THE TEAM BEHIND IT?

Alpine Office is an independent design studio founded by three partners—Lea Kargaard, Mads-Emil Luplau, and Rozanna Fritz—each bringing their own unique creative experience and skill set to the mix. Our collective expertise allows us to craft bespoke solutions that address the distinct needs of our clients. We specialise in brand strategy, graphic design, visual identity, art direction, and retail design. You could say we’re able to create everything that revolves around a product—the only limit is the client's imagination.

HOW DO YOU APPROACH CLIENT COLLABORATIONS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT?

Our approach is flexible and tailored to each project. We believe that strong partnerships are built on understanding, so we invest time to truly get to know our clients and their needs. This helps us shape a workflow that feels natural and collaborative. Our philosophy centres on shared creativity—finding the best solutions together. With our broad range of expertise, we can take on everything from conceptualisation and project management to budgeting and final execution. It’s all about delivering a seamless experience, whether clients choose a full-package solution or something more bespoke.

WHAT SHAPED YOUR APPROACH WHEN COLLABORATING WITH THORUP COPENHAGEN,
AND WHAT WERE YOUR MAIN PRIORITIES THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT?

Our aim was to showcase Thorup’s distinctive furniture and design identity in the best possible light. To achieve this, we opted for a minimalist catalogue design, leveraging white space and a clean layout to emphasise the brand’s aesthetic. The catalogue, which serves as a key sales tool, is compact and easy to carry on the go. Its cover, crafted from premium paper, ensures durability while retaining an exclusive feel. Our guiding principles throughout the project were aesthetics, functionality, and a deep respect for the brand’s values.

WHICH INDUSTRIES DO YOU PRIMARILY WORK WITH, AND
WHAT MATTERS MOST WHEN FORMING NEW PARTNERSHIPS?

Our core focus is on fashion, interiors, and lifestyle brands, but we love pushing boundaries and exploring new territories. We even have clients in the innovation and tech industries. For us, the key to a successful partnership is a strong alignment of values. It’s essential that we can build something meaningful together that resonates on both sides.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST FULFILLING ABOUT YOUR WORK,
AND WHAT DRIVES YOU FORWARD?

Seeing an idea evolve from concept to reality is incredibly rewarding—especially when it impacts our clients and us in a meaningful way. It’s in those moments of synergy between a client’s vision and our own where something truly unique happens. Our drive comes from a deep curiosity and a passion to continually grow, explore new possibilities, form fresh collaborations, and refine our craft with every new project.

WHAT DID YOU PRIORITISE WHEN DESIGNING YOUR OFFICE, AND
WHAT’S KEY TO CREATING AN INSPIRING WORKSPACE?

We focused on creating an environment that feels open, calm, and inspiring. We spend so many of our waking hours at the office, so it was important to design a space where we genuinely enjoy being—a place that inspires meaningful work. For us, the key is balancing homeliness, with elements like books, ceramics, and art, alongside a professional workspace that invites concentration and creativity. We’ve taken a hands-on approach to designing the larger elements ourselves, selecting materials and colours that bring a sense of tranquillity to the room.

The Noel Lounge Chair is not just a seat—it’s a statement piece with a sculptural quality that complements the other materials in the space perfectly. We use it when we need to step away from our desks, whether it’s to immerse ourselves in a piece of writing or to take a more relaxed phone call.
