In our creative work, we meet talented people who we admire and see as ongoing sources of inspiration, as we find their stories and professional works unique. In a series of photos, we seek to capture a visual narrative of our Noel Chair in personal spaces, bringing some warmth and creative energy into the object.
For the second edit of Thorup Creatives we bring Noel Chair on Tour. Danish Artist Sune Christiansen invited us into his atelier in Copenhagen, allowing us to capture a visual story of Noel Chair in the colorful surroundings of his creative space.
Sune Christiansen is a self-taught visual artist with a background in graphic design, art direction and animation. He has had solo exhibitions and participated in group shows both in Denmark and internationally.
Christiansen's art resides somewhere between the abstract and figurative, and explores a simplified, naïve and liberated expression. Often based in organic motives Christiansen's work is minimalist and seeks to find drama in quiet situations. His compositions are based on a primary and almost child-like conception of colors, creating a pictorial atmosphere diving into the colorist tradition of the 20th century.
